Johnson Finishes Third in Decathlon at Mt. SAC Relays
WALNUT, Calif. - Justin Johnson finished third in the decathlon and Brittany Ricketts placed fourth in the heptathlon among Matador competitors on Thursday and Friday at the Mt. SAC Relays.

Johnson scored a season-best 6,846 points and Awet Hagos was 25th with 5,165 points in the California Invitational at Azusa Pacific. In the heptathlon, Ricketts scored a personal-best 4,865 points in the California Invitational and La'Shana Verdon was ninth in the Mt. SAC heptathlon after posting a career-best 5,125 points.

Among the events at Mt. SAC, Brandon Ruffin ran 11.04 to place 17th in the 100 meters. Allen Lindsay was 14th in the 400 meters in a season-best 48.58 while Everett Savoy was a place back in 13th in a time of 48.78. In the 800 meters, Daniel Clements finished ninth in a time of 1:51.69 just .20 off his season-best. Landon Llamas was 32nd in a time of 1:54.93. In the 1,500 meters, Christian Haase placed 29th after running 3:58.83. James Fredrickson finished 13th in the 400 meter hurdles in a time of 54.71.

In two field events for the Northridge men, Ryan Richards finished 11th in the javelin with a mark of 178-3 (54.34m) and Jonathan Moore was third in the long jump with a leap of 22-1.75 (6.75m).

On the women's side, Dominique Calvin finished second in the 100 meters in a personal-best 11.97. Calvin was also fourth in the long jump with another personal-best of 18-9.25 (5.72m). Also on the track, Liz Camy finished 30th in the 5,000 meters in a time of 18:37.29. In other field events, Jere Summers finished fourth in the discus with a mark of 146-7 (44.68m) and Bobbie Patton was 11th in the javelin with a throw of 123-10 (37.75m).

The Mt. SAC Relays continue on Saturday.
