Husky Classic Final Results
SEATTLE, Wash. - In their final tuneup before the MPSF Indoor Championships (Feb. 29-Mar. 1), Cal State Northridge track & field had another good meet at the Husky Classic in Seattle. Junior Morgan Bogard led the way with an NCAA Provisional mark in the women's weight throw.
Bogard took second in the weight throw with a mark of 62-3 (18.97), the best by a Matador thrower this year. She finished behind only Brittany Hinchcliffe of Team XO who threw 63-9.50 (19.44). Tatiana Crochet also set a personal-best with a throw of 51-6.25 (15.70) to place 16th. Also for the Northridge throwers, Bobbie Patton finished eighth in the shot put with a season-best 47-6.25 (14.48).
In the women's pole vault, Krystal Quinn matched her career-best with a vault of 12-2 (3.71) to place 27th and Jocelyn Do finished 31st at 11-6.50.
On the track, Sherrina Lofton ran a career-best 7.60 to finish ninth in the 60 meter finals. Lofton also matched her lifetime-best by running 7.68 in the prelims. Dominique Calvin also set a season-best with a time of 7.92. In the hurdles, Ashleigh McGrew finished 15th in the 60 meters in a season-best time of 8.74. Lofton also ran well in the 400 meters finishing fifth in a crowded field in a time of 56.48.
For the Matador men, Thomas Henry made his debut in the 60 meters and clocked a time of 7.07 in the prelims. In the 60 meter hurdles, Terry Ross ran identical times of 8.11 in the prelims and the final to take fifth-place.
In the field events, DaShalle Andrews finished seventh in the long jump with a season-best 24-0.25 (7.32), Joshua Schroder vaulted a season-best 15-1.50 (4.61) to finish 19th in the men's pole vault, Alex Butler eclipsed his career-best in the shot put by finishing seventh with a mark of 52-9.25 (16.08) while Chris Fuller was 12th with a throw of 51-1 (15.57). Cody Pearce rounded out the day with an 11th-place finish in the weight throw with a mark of 59-0.75 (18.00).
