Water Polo Team Continues Winning Ways at UC Santa Cruz Slugfest
The Cal State Northridge women's water polo team (3-0) remained undefeated on the season as they were victorious in their two games on Saturday at the UC Santa Cruz Slugfest in Santa Cruz, Calif. The Matadors will play Cal State Hayward at 8 a.m. on Sunday.

Northridge 5, UC Davis Club "A" 3

The Matadors earned their first victory of the tournament after a 5-3 win over UC Davis Club "A."

Pam Barba scored a goal and assisted on three in the game, while senior Katie Roth and freshman Erica Bonetti continued their offensive tear, scoring two goals apiece.

Michelle Perkins came up big on the defensive end, making seven steals in the game. Senior goalie Jessica Moody made nine saves in the net for Northridge.

Northridge 6, UC Santa Cruz 3

After falling behind 2-0 early in the game, the Matadors showed grit as they came back to win 6-3 over Santa Clara.

Head coach Molly Barnes had three players score two goals each -- Chari Christopher, Pam Barba and Katie Roth. Roth has scored at least two goals in every Cal State Northridge game this season.

Barba also recorded a remarkable nine steals, while goalie Jessica Moody made seven saves for the Matadors.
