Men's Long Jump Prelim Results Get Acrobat Reader

EUGENE, Ore. - Matador Freshman Reindell Cole jumped 25-08.75 (7.84m) in men's long jump qualifying on Friday to reach Sunday's event final at the U.S. Olympic Trials at Oregon's Hayward Field.

Cole finished 10th among 12 long jumpers who advanced to Sunday's final which will take place at 3:15 p.m.

He advanced with a jump of 7.84 meters which came on his first attempt. Cole then fouled on his second and closed with a mark of 5.02 meters on his third attempt.

Miguel Pate of Nike posted the best jump of the preliminary round at 27-0.50 (8.24). Cole's best this season came at the Steve Scott Invitational in Irvine May 4) when he jumped a career-best 26-9.75 (8.17).
