James Ciuffo begins his ninth season as an assistant coach for the Cal State Northridge women's tennis program.

During his time at Northridge, Ciuffo and the Matadors have posted an overall record of 116-88. In 2001, he helped lead the Matadors to the Big Sky Conference Championship and a spot in the NCAA Tournament. Along with his coaching duties, Ciuffo assists in organizing practices and recruiting.

Ciuffo attended Cal Lutheran University, where he was a member of the men's tennis team from 1994 to 1996. He earned his bachelor's degree in business from CLU in 1996. Prior to attending Cal Lutheran, Ciuffo attended Pierce College in Woodland Hills, Calif. and graduated from Taft High School in 1998.

He is also a member of the United States Professional Tennis Association.

Ciuffo and his wife Shelley have a daughter, Angelina (4).
