Conference Honors Pour In for Northridge Tennis

The Cal State Northridge women's tennis team placed three of its members on the All-Big West Women's Tennis Team, the conference announced Tuesday. Freshman Evgeniya Vertesheva and Brooke Doane earned All-Big West First Team doubles honors while Vertesheva claimed All-Big West Singles First Team honors and Nina Jaworowski earned a place on the All-Big West Singles Second Team. Northridge Tennis Concludes Season with 4-2 Loss to Long Beach State

The Cal State Northridge women's tennis team concluded its season Saturday with a 4-2 loss to Long Beach State at the Big West Championships. The Matadors took the doubles point, as Nina Jaworowski and Nigora Sirojiddinova outlasted Deborah Armstrong and Lisa Sutton, 9-7, in the No. 2 doubles match and Sirojiddinova won her fifth-seeded singles match. Matador Tennis Faces Pacific at Big West Championships Friday

Having finished the season with a 10-12 record and 4-4 mark against Big West opponents, the Cal State Northridge women's tennis team enters the Big West Championships as the fourth seed and a match-up against Pacific Friday. Matador Tennis Wraps up Regular Season with 5-2 Win over UC Riverside

The Cal State Northridge women's tennis team (10-12, 4-4) defeated UC Riverside, 5-2, Tuesday afternoon to conclude its regular season. The doubles tandem of Evgeniya Vertesheva and Brooke Doane won their top-seeded doubles match to finish a perfect 8-0 against Big West opponents in 2009 and 17-2 overall. (MORE)
