Eight Matadors Named to 2009-10 Big West Academic All-Conference Winter Sports Team


Eight Cal State Northridge student-athletes earned a spot on the 2009-10 Big West Academic All-Conference Winter Sports Team, the league announced Thursday. Three Matador women's basketball players joined five swimmers (four women's, one men's) as part of a group of 70 student-athletes honored throughout the league. (MORE)

Cal State Northridge Announces Discontinuation of Men's and Women's Swimming Programs


Cal State Northridge Intercollegiate Athletics, as part of campus-wide reductions to help deal with the on-going campus and statewide financial crisis, will discontinue its men's and women's swim programs at the conclusion of the 2009-10 academic year. (MORE)

It was another record breaking night for the Matador swimmers, with new marks being set in the Women's 200 Medley Relay and 100 Backstroke. (MORE)

Yulia Gavrilova, Kimberley Rashleigh, Olesya Senicheva, and Lysandra Carter-Aaron (pictured above) helped set a new record in the 200 Medley Relay, breaking a 22 year-old record in the process.
