NORTHRIDGE, Calif. - The Cal State Northridge softball team (20-30, 8-10 Big West) lost 6-3 to UC Riverside in 11 innings Sunday afternoon at Matador Diamond. Brittany Keeney blasted a three-run home run in the 11th inning to help the Highlanders snap an 18-game losing streak against the Matadors.

After the teams traded runs in the 10th, Keenely blasted a 3-2 pitch to clear the bases and send UCR to victory. The Matadors tried to ignite a two-out rally in their half, but the game ended on a groundout with the tying run at the plate.

In the bottom of the 10th, Mikayla Thielges blasted her team-leading 12th home run of the season to tie the game. She finished the contest 3-for-5 with two RBIs and is now batting .336 on the year with 45 RBIs, which is tied for the sixth-most in school history for a single season.

Jaci Carlsen finished 1-for-4 at the plate and collected two stolen bases to bring her haul to six for the weekend and 19 for the season. That total sets a new school Division-I record for a single season, breaking Jennifer Mosier's 18 during the 2010 season.

In the final home game of her career, Tracy Allen finished with two hits and 10 defensive assists from third base. Fellow senior Karla Chaparro had two hits and an RBI. Jessica Fridwall collected her first double of the year during the game.

Mia Pagano started the game for Northridge, lasting 6.1 innings and allowing six hits and two earned runs. Jordyn McDonald tossed all 11 innings for UCR in the win.

UCR scored its first two runs of the game on solo home runs. The Highlanders added a third on a two-out hit in the 10th. Northridge got one across in the third on an RBI single by Thielges and added another in the fourth on an RBI single by Chaparro.

The game was the final home contest for four Matadors: Allen, Chaparro, Kristen Mihm and Jennifer Mosier. The quartet was honored in a pre-game ceremony.

Next week Northridge travels to Cal State Fullerton for a three-game series to close out the 2011 season. The Matadors and Titans will play a doubleheader on Friday, May 13 beginning at 4 p.m., followed by a single game at noon on May 14.
