NORTHRIDGE, Calif. - The Cal State Northridge softball team (5-10) lost both ends of a doubleheader to Cal State Bakersfield Wednesday afternoon at Matador Diamond. CSUN dropped the first game 2-1 and then was shutout 2-0 in the second leg.

In 14 innings of play Wednesday, the Northridge offense generated five hits and one earned run. Tracy Allen scored the Matadors' only run of the day, blasting her third home run of the season in the game one loss.

In the first game, Bakersfield scored a pair of unearned runs on CSUN starter Hannah Fraijo. That held up to give Alyssa Walker the victory in the circle for the Roadrunners. She allowed just two hits while striking out three and walking none.

Fraijo fell to 3-2 on the year with the loss. She tossed a complete game and scattered eight hits with no walks or strikeouts.

The second game was not much different than the first. Bakersfield scored on a two-run single in the fourth and that would hold up for Sammy Rodriguez to earn the win. She tossed seven innings and allowed only three hits while fanning seven and walking two.

Carly Wade fell to 1-7 on the year with the loss in game two. The rookie tossed a season-high seven innings in defeat, walking two and scattering seven hits.

The Matadors return to action at the DeMarini Invitational on the campus of Cal State Fullerton. They open with Murray State at 3:45 on Mar. 4 and then face Northwestern on Mar. 5 also at 3:45 p.m. CSUN wraps up its time in Orange County with two games on Sunday, Mar. 6: an 11:15 contest with Southern Miss and a 1:30 meeting with No. 14 Stanford.
