Duties with Team USA Keep Jordan Busy over Summer

Cal State Northridge Softball Head Coach Barbara Jordan has a busy summer ahead as she resumes her duties as a coach with Team USA. Over the next few months, Jordan's responsibilities with the team as an assistant coach will take her to tournaments in Oklahoma, British Columbia and Japan, in addition to the team's official selection and training camps. 2009 Matador Softball Year-in-Review

Having finished 29-21 overall, tied for fourth in the Big West Conference and set the stage for bigger and better things, the Cal State Northridge softball team enjoyed a stellar campaign in 2009. Led by a determined group of upperclassmen, the Matadors won two preseason tournaments and strung together an 11-game winning streak during the season. (MORE)
Micah Putnam and Debbie Duran Named to All-Big West Softball Team

A survey of the Big West Conference coaches saw two Matadors named to the All-Big West Sofbtall team, the league announced Tuesday. Senior Micah Putnam earned All-Big West Second Team honors for her work at second base and junior Debbie Duran took home All-Big West Honorable Mention accolades for her work in the circle. (MORE)
Early Innings Power Northridge Past UC Davis, 5-2

The Cal State Northridge softball team (29-21, 9-12 BWC) defeated UC Davis, 5-2, Sunday afternoon at La Rue Field. Amanda Pitzenberger pitched a complete game and Alexandria Alvarado had two RBIs for CSUN in the victory. (MORE)
