Matador Women's Golf Inks Patten and Samson to National letters of Intent

NORTHRIDGE, Calif. - Cal State Northridge women’s golf coach Bonnie Murphy announced that she has signed Kendall Patten and Lady Samson to National Letters of Intent to play for the Matadors.

Patten took first place at the L.A. County Junior Golf Championship at Knollwood G.C. in 2006 and took second at the Yorba Linda Invitational in July of 2007. She also finished third at the Optimist International Golf Qualifier at Woodley Lakes G.C. in June of 2007. She was home schooled throughout high school.

“We’re extremely excited to have a player of Kendall’s caliber joining our golf program,” said Murphy. “She’s a diligent worker with a great work ethic. She has great family support and will bring nothing but positives to our program.”

Samson finished second at the Porter Valley Championship this past August and also qualified for the Westfield Championship at the PGA of Southern California golf course. She was named Daily News First Team All-Area in 2006 while playing for Valencia High School in Valencia, Calif. She was also named a First Team All-Foothill League golfer in 2006.

“Lady is a very seasoned tournament player who will add significant experience to our program,” said Murphy. “She comes from a local high school and is a very consistent player who drives the ball very well.”
