Matadors in Sixth Place After One Round at Cal Poly
First Round Results
ARROYO GRANDE, Calif. - Cal State Northridge women's golf, behind Krystina Gillenwater's opening round one over-par 73, sits in sixth place, nine shots back after the first round of the Lamkin Cup Cal Poly Invitational at Cypress Ridge Golf Course.
As a team, the Matadors (308) trail tournament leader UC Riverside by nine strokes heading into Tuesday's final round.
Gillenwater is currently tied for fifth place, five shots off the pace of leader Jennifer Bermingham of UC Riverside. Gillenwater carded a 36 on the front nine and 37 on the back to post a first round 73 and is tied with two other golfers.
Senior Eva Yoe is tied for 19th at +5, 77 after a 38 on the front nine and a 39 on the back. Julie Cho is a stroke back in a tie for 24th at +6, 78 and Monique Huijsman is two shots back of Cho in a tie for 37th at +8, 80. Lucy Davies rounded out the Matador team scoring as she is tied for 50th at +10, 82.
Katrina Sutton and Sarah Windsor both competed as individuals with Sutton tied for 70th at +13, 85 and Windsor tied for 78th at +14, 86.
Final round Tuesday begins at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start.
