Results Through Two Rounds 
RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, Calif. -
Junior Krystina Gillenwater fired a two-round 153 (+9) and is tied for sixth-place while the Cal State Northridge women's golf team is fifth at 629 after two rounds of the Big West Championship at Tijeras Creek G.C.
The Matadors stumbled out of the gate as they shot an opening-round 327 but bounced back to post a 25-stroke improvement (302) in the second round. UC Irvine is the team leader after two rounds with a team score of 607. UC Davis (617) is second, Cal Poly (622) is third, UC Riverside (628) is fourth followed by the Matadors and Long Beach State (637).
Northridge did not post a single round in the 70's in the first round but then had every golfer score in the 70's in the second round.
Gillenwater posted rounds of 81 and even-par 72 and is nine shots behind Chelsea Stelzmiller of UC Davis who is the individual leader at even-par 144 after two rounds.
Senior Lucy Davies is just out of the top 10 as she sits in a tie for 12th at +13, 157 after rounds of 83-74. Freshman Ashlee Nagamine is also in the top-20 as she is tied for 18th at +15, 179 after rounds of 81-78. Junior Stephanie Aston is tied for 21st at +17 after rounds of 82-79 and Eva Yoe, the Matadors' leading scorer coming in to the championship, struggled to an opening-round 87 but closed with a 78 and is tied for 24th at +21, 165.
Tuesday's final round (18 holes) is scheduled to get underway at 7:30 a.m.
