LINCOLN, Calif. -
In 15th-place after two rounds on Monday, the Cal State Northridge women's golf team carded a final-round 309 to finish in 13th-place at the NCAA Western Regional Preview at Lincoln Hills G.C.
As a team, the Matadors posted rounds of 311-307-309 to finish the three-round tournament at 927. The University of Denver, the top ranked team in the field, maintained their first-day advantage and ended the three-round event at 288-290-298-876. Their score was just 12-over par and was 24 strokes better than second place Oregon (300-292-308-900).
Individually for Northridge, senior Eva Yoe finished a Matador-best 27th at +11, 227. Yoe posted rounds of 77-71-79 to finish 11 shots back of individual winner Amy Eneroth of Washington State who posted a three-round score of 216 one shot better than Oregon's Cathryn Bristow (75-70-72-217) and UC Davis' Alice Kim (71-72-74-217).
Lucy Davies (79-76-80) and Katrina Sutton (76-80-79) both tied for 57th at +19, 235 but Davies played the entire tournament with an injured back. Ashlee Nagamine, coming off a first-place finish at the Elco, Inc. Intercollegiate at Cal State Bakersfield, tied for 62nd at +20, 236 after rounds of 80-80-76 and Krystina Gillenwater tied for 66th at +21, 237 after rounds of 79-83-75.
Cal State Northridge hosts the Matador Spring Invitational next week (Apr. 7-8) at Tierra Rejada G.C. in Moorpark in its last tournament before the Big West Championships on Apr. 23-24.
