Matadors In Second After Opening-Round at Elco, Inc. Intercollegiate

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Northridge freshman Ashlee Nagamine carded an opening-round four over-par 78 and is in second place after the first round of the Elco, Inc. Intercollegiate at Bakersfield C.C.

As a team, the Matadors fired a team round of 322 and trail Portland by four shots. The Northridge "B" team is in fifth-place after one round with a team score of 337.

Nagamine led the Matador charge with a first round (+4) 78 and trails leader Kalyn Dodge of Portland (+2, 76) by two shots. Krystina Gillenwater and Monique Huijsman are currently tied for seventh at +7, 81, Julie Cho is tied for 12th at +8, 82 and Lucy Davies is 20th after the first round after carding a round of +12, 86.

For the "B" team, Stephanie Aston and Katrina Sutton are tied for fourth at +6, 80, Sarah Windsor is tied for 22nd at +14, 89 Maurissa Medina is 25th at +15, 89 and Mallory Gonzalez is 31st after shooting a +26, 100.

The second and final round at the par-74 course takes place on Tuesday.
