This is your fourth trip to the NCAA Track & Field Championships. Do you still get excited about competing against the best collegiate athletes in the country?
"This is still an exciting experience. It's the best of the best competing at the NCAA's. It's an exciting event where people are competing in many events at all times. There is a lot going on. It's fun to be a part of the experience."
Last year, you won the NCAA title in the long jump. This year you are competing in the triple jump. You have competed against these athletes before. Tell us about the friendship that exists between the athletes?
"Simply, on the track we are competitors. Off the track, we are all friends. Everybody there wants to win so you put your game face on. It's all fun. Just do your best."
Last year you were a long shot to win the long jump, and you won the competition. This year in the triple jump, you are again a long shot. What is your game plan this year?
"Basically, just be ready to jump. If it is meant for me to win, great S If not, still give it your best effort. Being an All-American would be great."
The largest number of student-athletes from Cal State Northridge are competing at the NCAA's. Because you have been to the NCAA's four times, what advice are you giving to your teammates?
"Basically, be yourself. It's five percent physical, 95 percent mental.
The athletes have put in a lot of hard work. Now the fun part is just competing,"
