NORTHRIDGE - 2008 Reindell Cole won Cal State Northridge's second straight NCAA long jump champion when he won the NCAA Indoor Championship with a leap of 26-7.75 (8.12) at the University of Arkansas ... his leap is a Northridge indoor record ... finished second at the MPSF Indoor Championships with a mark of 25-8.25 (7.83) ... won the Big West long jump title during the outdoor season with a jump of 25-2 (7.67) ... was named Big West Men's Freshman of the Year ... broke the 15-year old Northridge long jump record with a leap of 26-9.75 (8.17) at the Steve Scott Invitational at UC Irvine ... also set the Northridge Freshman standard ... went on to finish sixth at the NCAA West Regionals with a distance of 24-6.50 (7.48) ... advanced to the NCAA Outdoor Championships where he placed 10th with a jump of 25-4 (7.72) ... capped an amazing freshman season with a berth in the U.S. Olympic Trials in Sacramento where he finished 12th with a distance of 25-0 (7.62)..
