Emre Celik, a Matador record-holder and 2008 alumnus of the Northridge swim team, finished 20th Sunday at the FINA World Swimming Championships in Manchester, Great Britain. The effort followed his 32nd-place finish in the 100 meters from the previous week. (MORE)

Emre Celik also had the Matadors top 100 fly time in 2007-08.

Former Matador swimmer Emre Celik finished 32nd in a field of 60 at the 9th FINA World Championships yesterday, swimming his specialty, the 100 meter backstroke, in 56.50 seconds. Celik was the second-best finisher form his native Turkey. (MORE)

Big West Championships Day Four - Northridge Men, Women Finish Sixth at Big West Championships

Despite courageous efforts on both sides, the Matadors settled to sixth in both the men's and women's championships after the fourth and final day of competition in Long Beach. Emre Celik wrapped up his Northridge career by going fourth in the 200 backstroke, and Jeff Hart finished tenth his final race as a Matador. (MORE)
