NORTHRIDGE, Calif. -- The Cal State Northridge Men's Soccer team is holding open tryouts for the 2008 fall season, head coach
Terry Davila announced Friday. A mandatory meeting will be held February 18th for all interested students with actual tryouts to be held the following day.
If accepted, prospective players will have a chance to join one of the most successful programs in the Big West. The Matadors captured the Big West crown in 2005 and, along with UC Santa Barbara, are one of just two schools to win the conference championship. the 2005 squad advanced to the round of 16 at the NCAA Tournament.
Interested athletes are required to attend a meeting with the Northridge coaching staff on February 18th in Matador Hall to fill out NCAA-mandated paperwork. Per NCAA rules, prospective athletes will be disqualified if their paperwork is incomplete.
Only full-time students may tryout. All athletes at Cal State Northridge must carry a minimum of 12 units.
The February 18th meeting will be held at 12:45 in the Matador Hall conference room, located at the corner of Lindley and Plummer. The tryouts will be held the following day at 1:00 pm at the Matador soccer practice field, which is located at the north end of campus between the baseball field and the track and field complex.
