Phil Van Horn recently finished his fourth year as the the Cal State Northridge Volunteer Coach, assisting the rest of the coaching staff with tasks and duties focused on infielders, while serving as first-base coach as well.

Van Horn is the CEO of Northridge Baseball Camps year-round Training Academy, Showcase, Youth Camp, and Clinic operations, and an international authority on Club Baseball.

He has developed that reputation throughout the past decade by maintaining a thriving L.A. private-lesson business, coaching at Pro, College, High School and Youth Camps, and appearing on media outlets such as the Cal Ripken Radio Show and in the New York Times Magazine.

Phil has taveled internationally to Latin America, Asia and Australia and has coached against youth national teams from Venezuela, Peurto Rico, Mexico, China, Korea, Japan and Taiwan.

Van Horn is a founding partner of the nationally acclaimed Anderson Bat Company Club program in Orange County, CA., an executive with the PlayHard Club program in Pasadena, CA., and former Board Member of the Glendale, CA. Knights club program. Florida Marlins prospect Mike Stanton credits his success to Van Horn's guidance during his teenage years.

Prior to joining the Matador staff, Van Horn's college coaching career began at the Univerity of Southern California as Director of Operations. Van Horn is an Emmy-Award winning writer, and has worked as a sportscaster for ESPN Baseball Tonight. Phil and his family live in the foothills of Tujunga, CA.
