In his third season on staff, Chris Deboofinished with the second lowest ERA on the team at 3.91 while working for a 1-1 record in 16 appearances out of the bullpen ... struck out 16 hitters in 25.1 innings and walked just six all year ... went 1-0 against Big West opponents with a 3.29 ERA in eight relief opportunities and struck out 10 ...pitched a scoreless ninth inning and struck out one batter in a win vs. Seattle University (2/19 Gm. 2) ... pitched 2.0 innings and struck out a batter against Valparaiso (2/26) ... pitched 1.1 innings against Lamar at the YMBL Cardinal Classic (3/4) ... matched his career high with two strikeouts against Sacramento State (3/19) ... set a career high with 4.0 scoreless innings pitched in relief against Bakersfield (4/8) ... pitched a scoreless inning and struck out two at Cal Poly (4/15) ... threw 4.0 innings and struck out three, both career highs, at UC Davis (4/29) ... picked up the win after throwing a scoreless inning in the tenth, striking out two against UC Riverside (5/15) ... pitched 2.0 innings and allowed one hit at Long Beach State (5/21).


This season's recipient of the Mike Frick Memorial Scholarship Award, Chris DeBoo appeared in 12 games and finished with a 1-1 record and 15.70 ERA ... threw 14.1 innings and struckout two batters ... struck out one batter vs. Connecticut (3/6) ... pitched 2.0 innings at Seattle (3/21) ... pitched one inning and allowed only one hit vs. Sacramento State (3/27) ... threw for one inning and did not allow a run vs. Albany (3/29) ... pitched 0.2 innings vs. UC Irvine (4/1) ... threw 1.2 innings at UNLV (5/18) ... set a new career high with his three innings on the mound, earning his first win of the season vs. UC Riverside (5/25) ... threw one full inning of no-hit ball at Cal State Fullerton (5/29).


Made his Matador debut in game one of a doubleheader at Nebraska, pitched 1.1 innings, and struckout one batter (3/7) ... entered the game vs. UNLV and pitched 2.0 innings and struckout two batters, both season-high marks (4/1) ... pitched 1.2 innings at UNLV (4/29) ... allowed only one hit in his 2.0 innings pitched at UC Irvine (5/1) ... allowed zero hits in 1.0 inning pitched at UC Irvine (5/2) ... threw for 1.0 inning and struckout a batter vs. Pacific (5/16) ... pitched 0.2 innings at UC Davis and struckout one batter (5/23) ... finished the season third on the team with a 1.86 ERA ... in the top five on the squad with a .257 batting average against ... only allowed nine hits, good for fourth best among Matador pitchers ... the two runs allowed were good for second best on the team.


DeBoo played football for one season as an outside linebacker, soccer for two seasons as a goalkeeper, and baseball all four seasons as a pitcher and third baseman for the Mustangs ... received all-league honors in 2007 and 2008, and was awarded the Best Teammate Award for his athletic achievements ... was a member of the 2007 Mesa League championship baseball team.


Parents are Ron and Lynn DeBoo ... has one younger sister, Alyssa ... previously competed for the Bonita Legends Baseball Club ... favorites include the San Diego Chargers, LaDanian Tomlinson, Adam Sandler, the television show "Prison Break", and the move "Spaceballs" ... chose to play for CSUN because of the culture and environment of the team and the good coaching staff ... finds the best thing about being an athlete is playing a sport that is fun each and every day ... likes to listen to music and visualize the game in his mind during his pregame ritual ... likes to play games on his PlayStation and go to the beach in his free time ... has met Tony Gwynn ... would love to become President of the United States for a day ... loves to go to the beach and finds it addicting ... would title his autobiography, "Life of a Legend" ... considers Honus Wagner and LaDanian Tomlinson his heroes because of the way they respect and play their respective sport in addition to his parents because of their positive attitudes towards life ... majoring in Business Administration.
