Sarah Lyons begins her 8th year as a member of the Cal State Northridge Sports Medicine staff in 2010 and her 6th year as an assistant athletic trainer.

Works primarily with the Matador women's basketball and men's volleyball teams and has also previously worked with the women's soccer, women's tennis, women's water polo, men's and women's swimming and diving and softball teams...

Responsible for the supervision and evaluation of athletic training students in ATEP and is involved in pre-participation physical screenings and NCAA compliance meetings. Along with managing, evaluating and treating athletes for all 20 sports at Northridge...Manages the nutritional counseling program and insurance claims for Matador student-athletes .. Also serves as the head athletic trainer for the Premier Development League's San Fernando Valley Quakes (men's soccer), as well as the Los Angeles Rampage of the Women's Premier Soccer League...She has also worked as a member of the Northridge Soccer Academy for three summer...

Lyons' tenure at Northridge began as a graduate assistant athletic trainer from 2002 to 2004. During those two years, she worked with the women's soccer, men's volleyball and softball teams...Lyons earned her master of arts degree in kinesiology from Cal State Northridge in May 2004 and performed her undergraduate work at San Diego State where she received her bachelor of science in kinesiology with an emphasis in athletic training in 2001...

Erick Buitrago arrived in November of 2006 and was the women's basketball athletic trainer for the 2006-07 season.

He currently works with the men's soccer, baseball, and men's and women's golf teams...Was an athletic training student at CSUN from 2000-02 and worked with the last Matador football team in 2001, and the 2002 men's soccer team that qualified for their first ever trip to the NCAA Division I Tournament...Received a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology with an option in Athletic Training...From 2003-05, he served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Southern Illinois University...Worked with the Saluki baseball team, and the swimming and diving teams

Dunford Rodill, an alumnus of Cal State Northridge, is joining the staff as an assistant athletic trainer after serving the last two years as a graduate assistant athletic trainer.

His primary sports coverage will include Women's Soccer, Softball, and Women's Tennis. Along with his athletic training duties, Rodill is the liaison to the Athletic Training Education Program (ATEP) at CSUN.

From 2008-2010, Rodill served as the graduate assistant athletic trainer at CSUN working specifically with Women's Volleyball, Softball, and Women's Tennis. Rodill received his Master's degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Biomechanics from CSUN. The primary focus of his graduate work was to examine posture, specifically in the lumbar spine, and the tools used to measure lordotic curvature.

In 2008, he earned his Bachelor's of Science degree from CSUN in Kinesiology with an emphasis in athletic training. While serving as an undergraduate athletic training student, he gained experience while working with various affiliated clinical sites such as USC, Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks, and CSUN.

Some of his other athletic training experience includes: X Games (X Games 15, 2009 and Winter X Games 14, 2010), Los Angeles Avengers (Arena Football League, 2008), United States Field Hockey Association (2007-2008), intern with the Greensboro Grasshoppers (minor league affiliate of the Florida Marlins, 2007). Dunford Rodill has been an NATABOC certified athletic trainer since 2008. He resides in Sherman Oaks with his wife, Hazel, and dogs, Marshall and Maxwell.

Brittany Beckwith, an alumnus of California State University, Northridge, is joining the staff as a graduate assistant athletic trainer.

Her primary sports coverage will include women's volleyball, track and field, and cross country. She completed her undergraduate studies at CSUN as a member of the Athletic Training Education Program, earning her Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Training in May 2010 and graduating Summa Cum Laude. She served two semesters as President of the CSUN Athletic Training Club, a time during which she took the lead in a research project "A Classification System Approach to Low Back Pain." She presented her research at the Far West Athletic Trainer's Association (FWATA) Annual Symposium in Honolulu, HI this past summer, being awarded "Best Student Presentation."

As an undergraduate athletic training student, Brittany gained experience working with the CSUN men's and women's soccer teams (Spring 2010), as well as the football teams at both College of the Canyons and Notre Dame High School (Fall 2008 and 2009). In the summer of 2009, Beckwith also had the opportunity to work with athletes outside of the conventional sports setting, being selected to attend the NATA Xtreme Leadership Xperience that was held at the Summer X-Games in Los Angeles, CA. She is currently working on her Master's Degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Biomechanics, looking to graduate in Spring 2012.
