Hall of Fame Hoopla...
It has been pretty amazing the reaction from the 2009 inductees into the Matador Hall of Fame ... Clearly, each candidate is deserving of entry into this distinguished group of former CSUN student-athletes, coaches and administrators ... Here were some of the reactions when each inductee was informed of the good news.

"I am honored to be inducted into the Matador Hall of Fame" - former CSUN football great Marcus Brady

"It's because of my teammates and coaches that I am receiving this honor. Thank you." - former Matador basketball great Brian Heinle

"I never thought about making the Hall of Fame as one my goals, but I always thought it would be pretty cool if I ever did make it one day." - former Matador swimming great Jeff Kubiak

"When I first heard the news, I was in shock. After all these years, I wasn't sure it would happen or that I even deserved the honor. I am humbled to be included among such a great group (Hall of Famers)." - former CSUN softball great Beth Onestinghel-Woll

"I am honored. My years at Northridge were not only for the school, but for the community as well." - former Matador head soccer coach Marwan Ass'ad

"It is difficult to express how much this selection means to me. This certainly puts an extra large candle with much sparkle on my retirement cake. Thank you so much for this honor." - Former Matador women's track & field head coach Dr. Barbara Swerkes

"It is great that we honor this baseball team by their induction into the Matador Hall of Fame." - Bob Hiegert, head coach of the 1970 Matador national championship baseball team
