CSUN To Promote Smart Money Management Skills Among College Student-Athletes

Northridge, Calif. - California State University Northridge has announced that it will host Making It Count's "Ultimate Money Skills: College," a financial success presentation created to educate and empower college students to develop smart money management skills. Making It Count, an educational service provider for students and a business unit of Monster Worldwide Inc. (NASDAQ: MNST), is teaming up with Bank of America, one of the world's largest financial institutions to provide the free presentation on Thursday, April 7, 2011, at 11:30 a.m. & 12:30 p.m., in the Athletics Conference Room.

The "Ultimate Money Skills: College" program provides students with an understanding of appropriate credit card use, how to develop and follow a budget, banking options, how to protect their identity and the importance of saving.

"The Ultimate Money Skills: College program emphasizes the importance of how the choices students make about money while in college can have a direct impact on their future financial success," said JR Cifani, Vice President and General Manager, Making It Count. "Knowing undergraduates are busy with academics, internships and extra-curricular activities, we developed a succinct, yet informative, program to help them make smart financial decisions."

Students and administration who attended the "Ultimate Money Skills: College" program found the presentation extremely valuable and effective. On a 10-point scale, college personal rated the program's value at 9.4 and its effectiveness at 9.6. Students were also impressed, giving the program a 9 for value and 9.5 for effectiveness.

The presentation is supplemented by, which offers more information on the topics covered in the presentation, as well as an opportunity for students to submit solutions to money-related challenges, provide their own money-making and money-saving tips and read a money-management blog, written by college students.
