Be a Matador Cheerleader

The following is a brief overview of the Northridge Cheerleading program:

Head Coach: Brianne Strauss '02 (Cheerleading Squad '97-'01)

Squad size: 20 members, maximum 5 males

Expectations & Opportunites:

• All cheerleaders will be assigned to various volleyball, soccer and men's and women's basketball games.
• All cheerleaders will participate in all men's basketball home games.
• Coach and Advisor will select a cheerleading team combining 12 members who will travel for post-season tournament participation
• Attend every practice, weight training session, and assigned game.
• Social engagements, including fraternity/sorority functions will not be considered an excused absence.
• Athletic code will be signed and followed.
• Fund raising and promotional appearances are required.
• Community service is required.

Tryouts will take place on Sunday, April 13 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Activities Center of Redwood Hall on the campus of Cal State Northridge.
There will be a $25 registration fee.
