The Cal State Northridge women's soccer team (1-2) will look to build upon its positive result against Saint Joseph's when it takes on a pair of historic rivals, Pepperdine and UCLA, in a pair of non-conference matches. The Matadors host the Waves under the lights at Matador Soccer Field on Sept. 3 at 7 p.m., then travel South along the Interstate 405 to face No. 11 UCLA at Drake Stadium on Sept. 5 at 1 p.m. (MORE)

A former All-American and member of Team USA, Tia Meza has been named an assistant coach on the Cal State Northridge softball program, head coach Tairia Flowers announced. Second-Half Surge Propels CSUN to 4-0 Victory over Saint Joseph's

The Cal State Northridge women's soccer team (1-2) scored four goals over a 20 minute span in the second half to take a 4-0 non-conference victory over Saint Joseph's Sunday afternoon at Matador Soccer Field. Desiree Cardenas, Brielle Slepicoff, Farryn Townley and Brittanie Sakajian all recorded their first goals of the 2010 campaign in the victory. (MORE)

Men's: Gustavo Villalobos, Men's Soccer
Redshirt freshman Gustavo Villalobos had an impressive performance in the Matadors' exhibition contest against San Diego State. Originally from Van Nuys, Calif., Villalobos earned a spot in the starting eleven for CSUN and recorded four shots, including one on-goal, against the Aztecs.

 

Women's: Brittanie Sakajian, Women's Soccer
Freshman Brittanie Sakajian enjoyed a solid performance against Saint Joseph’s, recording her first career goal and assist in the match. She assisted on Farryn Townley's goal in the 81st minute and then tallied her own goal in the 85th minute. She now leads the team with three points on the season.
